New Year New Beginnings

2021 will be an even more amazing year as the team at Async Art prepares to show new ways of creating, displaying, and interacting with programmable artworks.

We kick off the new year with a brand new explainer video of how Async Art works:

There is now a new way to showcase any Async pieces in your internet browser. The Async Art Tab Extension is completely free and supported on Brave, Chrome, and Vivaldi:

Head over to your browser’s extension store, search for Async Art, and it should be available to install.

Once the Tab Extension is done installing, open a new tab on your internet browser. It will prompt you to visit async.art to pick out an artwork to keep tabs on. With this extension you can selectively follow any live artwork in our Gallery, or click “set to random” to display a new Async artwork every time you open a new tab in your internet browser.

Head over to the our newly updated Frames page to learn more.

One of the biggest barriers of entry for NFT projects is the daunting amount of steps to create and load up a cryptowallet. With this latest platform update, new users on the site can immediately use an email and login via the new Magic feature.

Here’s a step-by-step guide, and Web3 users on Metamask can still use their preferred method of logging into their Async account.

Magic works by creating a cryptowallet for a new user on the backend but the user never has to directly manage it. Just like Metamask and other Web3 methods, a new user will still need to load up their account with ETH in order to start collecting artwork.

For this step, we launched a Wallet page, accessible when clicking into your account tab on top right corner, to check your current balance:

In the next major update, we hope to enable credit card payments in exchange for ETH for a much easier, more streamlined way to bid on Async artwork for folks who never used cryptocurrency before, or are just a bit short on funds.

In addition, when a user bids or sets a “Buy Now” price on any Async artwork, there will be a confirmation dialog popup to make sure the bid/sell amount is accurate as well as give more clarity on the breakdown of how the commission works.

Looking ahead, we’ve made several website improvements that enhance the user experience as they browse Async.art.

The new explainer video shines front and center on our homepage, and our newsletter signup is now brought higher on the page.

Our email newsletters are one of the best ways to stay in the know about auctions, new features, and the many exciting events we will be taking part of this year. As well as your ticket to potentially winning a lovely gift from us at the end of the year.

Our “Latest Masters” section has turned into “New and Notable” to showcase some of the best that Async Art offers, curated by a panel of our team members.

We are very excited to bring you these latest improvements, and these are just laying down the groundwork for something much bigger in 2021.

Follow us on Twitter or Discord to get the latest news and updates. Until next time!
