Just as we finished our last blog post about COVID-19 and endless Zoom calls, an art submission came in that inspired this following promotional trailer, which features @n0shot, Josie Bellini, @Matt from Cent, @Dan from Opensea, @Bradley from Roll, Johan from Marblecards, Will Peaster, and of course, @Rizzle from Avastars.
“Doom Party” by @XCOPY is the perfect mirror of the daily struggles we now contend with. Each of the 9 participants can show different states. In some cases, various stages of vice: drinking, smoking, and sinking into despair.
To further drive the apocalyptic theme, there is an ever-present “Death’s Hand” Layer that can instantly “Doom” any one participant. Every participant has a unique death scene, and it will be up to the Layer owner of “Death’s Hand” to uncover them all.
We’re excited about this piece because of the level of interaction and conversation it can invoke. Almost every day of this week, XCOPY the artist has polled his Twitter community and asked which participant should be the next victim of his Death hand.
This piece will be going up for auction this weekend, check our posted schedule below for the end times.
MLIBTY is another Async artist that has returned with an evolved form of a previous piece. His latest collaboration with Gary Cartlidge and Pr1mal Cypher is an autonomous piece called “Ether Makes the Moon go Around”
His first Async Piece “Money Makes The World Go Round” was themed around Bitcoin. This work is themed around Ethereum and there is an autonomous Layer that will reflect the ETH/USD price change with a green or red Ethereum logo.
At the time of writing this post, ETH has been going up consistently each day, so the center symbol has stayed green. What we really enjoy is that there is practical functionality with this piece, you can tell at a glance if ETH went up or went down.
Our last piece up for auction this week is @Yuramiron’s “The real secret of magic”. Made in his signature style of psychedelic shapes and colors, each Layer contains an insane amount of possibilities. The background Layer itself contains 22 different states, more than enough for any kind of mood the owner may be in. ;)
Inspired by the writings and philosophy of Terrence McKenna, the idea of manipulating and shaping the world by simple words. It refers to any person’s ability to ‘play’ with structure of the conceptual world just as a Layer’s owner can ‘play’ with the background or any of the 3 figures (referred to Yura as Magicians) by changing their states.
Here is this weekend’s jam-packed auction schedule:
