The team has been hard at work making it happen, and we’re proud to announce the release of brand new Async Art along with the opening of the “Get Out While You Stay In” digital art event hosted by @Coldie at his impressive BTC Citadel build. The moment you enter Cryptovoxels, larger-than-life vox models will greet you. From the animated Bitcoin welcome sign at center stage, Josie’s trademark head bust, and the exotic cars from CryptoMotors, you know you’re in for a treat this weekend.
Meanwhile, for those who are not able to attend in person, we have a great video trailer from the talented @Horus^
As with any conference, you start with getting your bearings. On the right side of center stage, there will be an overview map, as well as directional controls on how to navigate in Cryptovoxels. There is also a BTC verification machine at the main entrance, to remind folks to get their Crypto wallets ready… because most of the art displayed at the event will be available for sale!
Our gracious host, Coldie, will be conducting guided tours each day at 12pm PST. Meet him at center stage underneath the spinning Bitcoin and he’ll run folks through all the galleries. Highly recommended as you may be exposed to Dad jokes and self-deprecating humor throughout the tour.
The Async team was lucky enough to have early access to the event. Here is our experience:
Visitors will start in Building 1, passing through a fiat detector for extra security. Once inside, Coldie explains the inspiration behind the event, instructions on how to purchase art, and have a bunch of his awesome pieces up on display.
As we come out of Building 1, take a moment to admire n0shot’s brilliantly constructed CryptoMotors display on the rooftop. Complete with custom lighting, and an open view engine that glows with animation, each vehicle oozes sophistication and luxury.
While you’re browsing on the roof, take another moment to grab a bite (FREE Crytpovoxel wearable) at CryptoWeiner’s food stand, as well as partake in a friendly game of CV darts by flying up into the sky (Press F ) and then dropping down into the dartboard.
Once you’re ready to move on, you’ll cross the Sky tunnel to Building 2, where Async, SuperRare, and Age of Chain galleries are. The first floor leads to the auditorium, complete with its own vox band setup and speakers. We share many talented artists with SuperRare, and it’s great to see many of their pieces animated in SuperRare’s gallery, the top two floors of Building 2.
As you exit from the 2nd floor, you encounter a staircase leading downstairs with Async branding. In the first darkened room, there is a brief explanation of what Async Art is all about. The pieces shown in this entry hall were sold during launch weekend, Cunégonde Dilemma, Banksta, Bitcoin Makes the World Go Around, Asynchronous Time, and Untitled.
Through the open doorway, you will then discover one of the most spacious and well lit galleries in the Citadel. In this clean, white room of undisturbed quiet is where our new lineup of Async artwork resides.
Featuring beautiful and thought-provoking pieces from PAK, TwistedVacancy, @Osinachi@shortcut@mattkane@BlackBoxDotArt@ALOTTAMONEY@vansdesign@hackatao, Josie, Rutger van der Tas, Hex6c, @ilankatin, @Serste, @MattiaC, @GiantSwan, @frenetikvoid - these 12 pieces are able to change their visual appearance due to Layer changes by an owner/artist/external API.
You can even preview several of its state changes by pressing the button next to a piece:
Each Master artwork has its own story. We can spend multiple blog posts diving deeper into each one, but that will come later.
When you are ready, we make our way upstairs to the social lounging area. This is where we feature our flagship Async artwork “First Supper” which broke several records on its opening week. Featuring artwork from 13 artists, it is to date still the largest collaboration and the highest sale (103.4ETH for Master, 263 ETH for Layers).
We are also offering FREE exclusive Cryptovoxel wearables for attendees. Just sign our guestbook and leave an Eth address. The BTC speech bubble will let people know you’ve attended this historic BTC digital art show, and the Giant Finger is a direct call out to the fun ceiling Layer in “First Supper”.
And finally, relax and enjoy our darkened lounge area. Top shelf drinks are available upon request and a clear view of the gallery below makes this area the perfect way to end the Async segment of the tour.
We hope that you enjoy your time here. Most pieces shown in Async gallery are available for sale, and we encourage buyers to follow the respective artists on their socials to get the latest updates auctions/end times.
Thank you everyone, and hope to see you all this weekend!
